"I honestly could not thank Chris & Sue enough. I had a very unique and quite difficult task for them because I wanted photographs of 4 week old puppies - and there were 9 of them! But it didn’t seem to be too complicated for Chris & Sue, they had an amazing connection with the little doggies from the onset and were able to go above and beyond my expectation! I am still in awe of the quality of the pictures. I feel like they are now part of our family and look toward to getting them back to take photos of our very large fur baby family." - Minnie, Lady & her 9 puppies

"Having seen Chris & Sue's website, I was totally blown away and to say I was excited to book a photoshoot for my dogs is an understatement. I and 3 Labradors set off to ButterSteep Forest in Ascot for a morning of a doggie photoshoot fun & games. They all loved and took to Chris instantly, especially with the wonderful array of toys & squeakers he had brought with him. 2 hours of running, jumping, fetching, swimming & general Labrador fun. I now have the most stunning images of the dogs on a feature wall in my dining room, loved and amazed by everyone that sees them."Sue, Maple, Dexter & Finlay

"Before the session, Chris & Sue sent us examples and suggestions so that we could think about what sort of pictures we wanted to try and achieve during the session. Having the photos taken in her own surroundings meant that Pippa was comfortable and ‘herself.’ Chris & Sue are clearly both animal lovers and put us all at ease very quickly. It felt as though friends had dropped by - Pippa got lots of attention and a walk in her favourite spot – perfect! The experience they bring means Chris & Sue have some great ideas to capture wonderful and unusual poses." David, Janet & Pippa

Your MIL Pet Photography Experience

Our clients have told us that we have provided them a complete experience for them and their dog. It's not a short window of photo shots and rushed time slot - it starts weeks ahead of the day itself, and continues beyond - this is a MIL Pet Photography Experience. So, what can you expect?

A stress-free and fun experience with no time constraints. With a gentle approach, in an unhurried environment we will capture the loving relationship between you and your pet, creating images to treasure forever. What we strive to do is capture your pet in their natural environment, in familiar surroundings where they’re relaxed and can be themselves, where their essence, spirit and character shine through.

Animals are best photographed within a natural environment, or at least one they are familiar with. We have the patience and ability to bring out the personality of each pet in heartwarming and often humorous portraits, capturing the spirit of your wonderful animal.

Testimonials

From the first contact ….all the way through the process to the finished article, this was a seamless, rewarding and at times quite amusing journey. Chris’ talents are not just in taking great photographs, but in understanding what preparation elements contribute to the best experience. Ultimately you want to capture your pets - whose lives only overlap with ours for a short period. But you also want to uncover and immortalise those moments we think only we see as owners.

The glint in the eyes, the interesting behavioural characteristics, the charming (or not so charming) faces they pull, or tilts of the head, or just the way they look at only you.

The well thought out pre-walk questionnaire - that asks you to get inside the dogs head is such a great way to prepare for the experience. How else does a photographer get an insight into what makes your dog tick, and what things might produce the best results. And the thought given pre experience on what type of photos you’d like is a lovely touch. Action photos, head only pics, lying, posing and many more options. All superbly illustrated by other photos from portfolios of his previous days. The quality of the build up and reminders, automated within an effective customer relationship management system is key to preparing in the right way.

The actual day of the experience was very relaxed and informal, with the dogs obviously wanting to feel at ease with Chris on what needed to be just another walk in a familiar spot. And with him wanting to blend in naturally whilst he worked his magic from behind the lens. He had every squeaker, whistle and general noise maker available on a lanyard around his neck to ensure he got the dogs attention - and to get those perfect pictures. The sight of Chris laid down in the undergrowth at Swinley Forest on his waterproof mat in search of ‘that moment’ tells you all you need to know about going the extra mile !

We gave Chris an additional challenge, with our 2 dogs - one a 15 year old senior, and one a full of energy juvenile. But he was unfazed.

And the images that Chris produced in a neat slide show were amazing. A mix of multiple photos (with and without their human friends) that captured the true character of Leo and Zara. And from there it’s up to you where you take it. Go old school with prints, or new age with digital memories. Either way it was a fantastic experience from start to finish and an everlasting tribute to the dogs who share our lives. Yes - dogs and weather can be unpredictable.. but that shouldn’t be an inhibitor. Adaptability and knowledge always finds a way. And Chris has those in spades.

MIL Pet Photography truly was an outstanding service and experience.

JOHN, ZARA & LEO

I honestly can’t praise MIL Pet Photography enough. I have always been quite apprehensive about getting professional photographs of Barkley done… I needn’t have worried!

From the moment I contacted Chris, I knew I was in safe hands. Throughout the experience he was the perfect mix of professionalism and kindness. He explained everything thoroughly and followed up with helpful emails and videos, giving examples of the photographs we may be able to capture.

During the photography session, Barkley and I were so relaxed, something I never thought I’d write! Chris’s guidance and calming energy resulted in the most amazing experience and beautiful pictures. He was genuinely interested in learning about Barkley! Sometimes misunderstood by people, but not by Chris, he captured his true essence and allowed him to shine.

Chris went above and beyond in every area; I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you for surpassing all my expectations and for giving me photographs I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.

SARAH & BARKLEY

Having worked with Chris and Sue on their Tails of Windsor and Ascot Book I can not recommend them highly enough.

I have two labs - a mad 2 year old called Khaos who lives up to his name, and a reactive 4 year old called Atlas who is very untrusting of people and dogs he doesn't know due to being attacked.

Chris knew all about their history and I think it is real testimony to his skill that within 30 seconds of meeting a normal very vocal Atlas adored Chris. This was huge as every positive interaction helps him become more confident so I felt immaterial of the pictures we were already winning.

The photo shoot itself was a huge amount of fun, for the dogs and for the humans and I was blown away when I saw the end results and the pictures.

Chris' photography captures the personality of the dogs perfectly and it was lovely to spend time with Chris and Sue chatting through the photos at the end.

Excellent with dogs, amazing photographer and superb customer service.

Thank you both!

GENNIE, ATLAS & KHAOS

In July 2021, after six months of intense training, examination and certification, Chris became the UK’s first certified Dog Photography Master. He received his formal recognition from Claudio Piccoli, the Dog Photography School’s founder and Master.

In 2023, Chris was awarded his Licentiate from the Societies of Photographers, LSWPP. He also become a multi award winning photographer the same year for two of his "Dogs in Action" photographs, and continued to win awards in 2024 too.
